Creating of an E-Portfolio Concept Requirement

Your e-portfolio will include at a minimum the following four components:
1. It will include a Home page – it is a visually appealing intro to your e-Portfolio (yourgoal/mission can be included on this page)
2. It will include About Me page – it is a personal narrative (350-500 words) that is gearedtoward your target audience, and that synthesizes all of your experiences, and thatenvisions how you will build on these experiences in the future. This is the page where youintroduce yourself to your reader. In other words, it is your chance to make a great firstimpression! When you write about you, keep in mind your target audience, and try toanticipate what they will find most engaging. This is also a place to give a reader a biggerpicture of you, and include a sentence or two of who you are as a person beyondschool/work.
3. It will include information from your Resume use a professional and generic resumethat you will use for interviews, and all instances related to your .Note: Be cognizant of what information you are putting out into the world. You may want toremove your personal contact details or other sensitive information from your resume ifyou are making your e-Portfolio public.
4. It will include at least three Areas of Focus (and name them accordingly) that includeartifacts demonstrating your skills, knowledge, and qualifications and that provide writtenreflections explaining the significance of these artifacts. Three examples areas of focusinclude:
Short descriptions of your learning: (choose a few courses to highlight, let youraudience why these courses are important to your future career, and attach a fewexamples of work to demonstrate your knowledge and skills).Awards/recommendation letters (if applicable): If presenting an award, describe thepurpose of these awards and why/how you were chosen.Beyond the classwork involvement (volunteering)Other areas of focus can include research, study abroad and internships, leadership,etc.Your e-portfolio must be submitted under via webcourses beforeor on the due date (submit a link to your e-Portfolio or Page).
You can think of artifacts as any materials that visually represent work you have produced or experiences you have had, in and outside of the classroom. As you start thinking about what specific artifacts you might include on your or in your e-portfolio, consider materials that reflect your chosen Areas of Focus. For example, if you chose “Relevant Coursework” as one of your areas of focus, you could include a PDF file of your written paper on a topic as an artifact to highlight your knowledge on the topic as well as your writing, thinking, etc. skills. If you participated in a service-learning course or any volunteering event, perhaps, you have pictures from your service/volunteering activities that can show you in action.
When using artifacts, you must consider whether a specific artifact will pose any ethical concerns. For example, in situations where you are using other people’s work such as images, documents, video, or audio files, etc., you need to be aware of the copyright, fair use, and permission guidelines for using these materials. Other ethical concerns include posting pictures with underage children that you worked with during your volunteering activity (you cannot include photos of those children without their parents’ permission. I am not looking for perfection but I need to see that you put in some work to create a great one. Lack of perfection does not mean that you are allowed to have grammar errors or very little content in any of the e-Portfolio pages.
Grading Rubric:Home page: 20 points
About Me page: 20 points
At least 3 areas of focus pages with relevant information: 30 points
Resume: 10 points
Free of grammar error: 10 points
Overall presentation (appeal, easiness to find information, working links, consistency): 10 points
Total: 100 points
