In Tuesdays with Morrie, as Mitch is preparing to leave Morrie on the second Tuesday, Morrie urges Mitch to let love come in. Find this place on p. 52. Describe and explain the section that contains this quote. Why does Morrie say this to Mitch? What does it mean that “love is the only rational act?” Write about a time in your own life when rationally, deliberately, you had to “let love come in” to your life.
In Tuesdays with Morrie, on the Fourth Tuesday, Morrie tells Mitch that Mitch “might have to make room for some more spiritual things in his life” because we are all “too involved in materialistic things, and they don’t satisfy us” (84). Do you agree, disagree, or partially agree and partially disagree that people need to make room in their lives for spiritual things because materialistic things don’t really satisfy us?
